Founded in 1911 in New York, Richelieu became a huge costume jewellery name during the 1940s and ‘50s as makers of imitation pearls. Their pearl necklaces presented in satin cases marked with the name of the company, typically with brand tags attached with pieces of ribbon as can be seen with this piece.
