Sculptural crucifix designed by Jean Mahie. A beautiful piece of wearable art, created in Paris France by the artist, sculptor and goldsmith Jean Mahie, back in the late 1970's. This rare vintage sculptural cross pendant was carefully crafted in solid rich yellow gold of 22 karats with all the surfaces finished with textured, chiseled and hammered patterns. It is a very interesting piece created from two elements of abstract forms, which are attached together with four ribbets. This solid gold pendant is an impressive and lends a big, bold, gold look on your chain. Weight: Has a total weight of 57.95 grams (37.15 Dwt). Measurements: 64 mm by 90 mm (2.52 x 3.60 Inches). Neither was formally trained and both preferred to work with 22ct gold in order to realise their unique style that embodied primitive form, motifs and techniques. Everything they made was entirely hand crafted with Jacline often drawing inspiration from her memories of growing up near the ancient ruins of Carthage in Tunisia.
