About the Item

A stunning vintage French 1.50 carat Colombian emerald and 1.38 carat diamond, 18 karat yellow gold necklace; part of our diverse vintage jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This stunning, fine and impressive vintage emerald necklace has been crafted in 18k yellow gold. The octagonal shaped frame is ornamented with a central feature 1.50ct octagonal cut Colombian emerald, collet set in subtle relief. Sixteen channel set modern brilliant round cut diamonds frame the feature emerald. A further nine pavé and channel set modern brilliant round cut diamonds ornament the tri-lobed ring loop attachment to the upper border of the design, from which the pendant suspends from a flat curb style chain. The chain secures with a lobster style fastening, and can be worn at both 45cm and 50cm lengths. The pendant is hallmarked to the reverse of the ring loop with the French mark for 18k gold (eagle's head) and maker's mark containing the letters 'JP', the chain is also hallmarked to the fastening with the eagle's head mark. This vintage 1990's necklace is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card, in addition to an emerald certificate and report provided by the Gemological Certification Services, London. "Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics." Condition This stunning gemstone necklace is exceptional quality set with a Colombian emerald displaying a fine clarity and brilliance, and very high color graded diamonds displaying a fine white color and brilliance. The necklace is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition, with French hallmarks to the reverse of the pendant and to the chain clasp.
