About the Item
An Edwardian emerald and diamond pendant/brooch, the pear-shaped emerald, weighing approximately 2.20 carats, accompanied by GCS Report no:5777-8959 stating to be of Colombian origin with minor enhancement, surrounded by twenty two old brilliant-cut diamonds, surrounded by a diamond-set foliate design with a diamond-set bow at the top, all suspended by a diamond-set loop, approximate total diamond weight 4.20 carats, all set in a platinum to a yellow gold back with gold brooch fitting, circa 1910, gross weight 8.6 grams.
A splendid emerald and diamond pendant made in the early days of the last century. This remarkable piece features a central pear-shaped emerald weighing over two carats set to a delicate diamond-set pendant. The pendant is of a typically Edwardian design, featuring foliate motifs and an exquisite bow. The openwork details around the emerald are set with lively and scintillating diamonds which complement the lush green stone beautifully. This pendant has a separate brooch fitting which can be attached, giving this piece wonderful versatility. This piece comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
