Everyone could use a little extra good luck, especially when it comes in such a lovely form as a charm necklace. This Adamas Cornicello Diamond Onyx Necklace features 7 cornicelli (singular, cornicello or corno portafortuna), or Italian horns, in various sizes and elegant treatments. The cornicello is an Italian amulet or talisman worn to protect against the evil eye, or malocchio, and bad luck in general. This 18” long (45.72 cm) 18K white gold chain-based charm necklace, made in Italy in the 21st century, 2020, suspends 6 graduated cornicelli in black onyx, topped simply with white gold loops, and culminates in one glittering pavé diamond-encrusted cornicello. Like most designs from this Italian fine jewelry house, founded in 1960 in Milan, the piece is sculptural yet delicate, minimalist yet luxurious. The onyx looks supple like carved stone, which is a testament to their skilled artisanship. Although more steeped in Italian tradition than many of their pieces, the treatment of this amulet is modern and streamlined, and as such universally appealing and wearable. The retail price of this necklace was originally $3,007. Measures approx. 18" in length. Diamond weight approx. 0.07 carats. Overall weight approx. 5.95 grams; 18k white gold.
