Ancient Greek 4th Century BC Athena Gold Stater and Diamonds Pendant 22k Gold
About the Item
An authentic and verified Ancient Greek Gold Stater from 336-323 BC displaying Athena in a Corinthian helmet is set in a complementary Steven Battelle 22K pendant design accented by five 2mm VS1 diamonds. This coin has been examined and certified by David Sear, who is the author of numerous books on ancient coinage, and is recognized as THE pre-eminent world authority on ancient Greek coins. His laminated certificate is included. The coin is set gently into a 22K (soft) bezel and care has been taken to not damage or modify the coin in any way that would reduce its value. Care should be taken when worn. The coin was minted during the reign of Alexander the Great, and depicts Athena wearing a crested Corinthian helmet decorated with a serpent. The reverse shows Nike standing left, holding a ring and a stylus, with an eagle below the left wing. The handmade pendant displays the coin on a hammered matt-finish background ornamented with square wire spirals and diamonds. The gold coin weighs 8.7 grams and is 18mm in diameter. This is a rare and unusual coin not usually seen in jewelry.
