Ancient Greek Thessaly 5th Century BC Horse Coin 18K Gold Diamond Pendant
About the Item
A uniquely shaped oblong authentic silver "hemidrachm" coin from the town of Trikka in ancient Thessaly (Greece) depicts the forepart of a horse leaping. The reverse shows a youth wrestling a bull. Thessaly was a land of plains in central Greece, noted for its fine horses suitable for calvary. Ancient coins were struck by hand, and although they generally were aiming for something roughly circular, flans sometimes came out in irregular shapes. This coin is set in a Steven Battelle designed simple line texture bezel with a 1.8 mm VS1 diamond accent at bottom. This pendant is sent with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The 18K triple spiga woven chain shown is not included but can be ordered additionally. It comes in 18” and 20" lengths. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with a pendant.

He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
