Antique Engraved Mother-of-Pearl Necklace in Yellow Gold with Blackened Silver
About the Item
This pendant features an antique Chinese mother-of-pearl gambling counter with motifs dating back to the 18th Century. This is an original piece, with a finely engraved scene. Originally carved in China for export to Britain. The British used these pieces like we would use a poker chip, in playing games. (Please refer to the history of the gaming counter shown alongside the additional photographs of this piece.)
Each gaming counter is set in a handmade 18k yellow gold and blackened silver mounting inspired by the architecture of Ancient China. Handmade by our jewelers in Los Angeles. Truly a conversation piece!
This pendant measures 1-1/2" in width, and 4" in length from the top of the bail to the bottom of the tassels.
30" blackened steel chain is included.
We have a larger version of this pendant that measures 1-3/4" in width and 4-1/2" in length. Larger pendant is available for separate purchase.
