THIS IS A ROMANTIC ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FIRE OPAL AND PEARL FLOWER GARLAND NECKLACE. THE STUNNING NECKLACE HAS SEVEN OF THE MOST GORGEOUS NATURAL ROUND CABOCHON OPALS WITH BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW AND ORANGE FIRE SET IN A FLOWER GARLAND MOTIF WITH PEARL SET LEAVES IN 14 KARAT GOLD. THE NECKLACE DATES TO CIRCA 1860-1900. Flower motif jewels are all the rage today. And here we have one with gorgeous Opals. The Victorians were absolutely enamored with nature and flowers and created jewels as well as sculptures of the fascinating creations. These antique flower gems are among the most highly desired and collected today. The beautiful garland design is set with the natural fire opal cabochon gems. These opals sparkle with blue, green, yellow, orange and red fire. The leaves are set throughout with pearls. The necklace creates a delightful nature inspired jewel which dances wonderfully around the neck.
The necklace is 18 inches long. The garland pendant portion is 1 3/4 inches (43mm) wide, and is 5/8 inch tall.
The necklace is 14 Karat Gold. The clasp may be later.
