This is an absolutely wonderful and rare antique French Victorian Scarab, Beetle, Insect on a Leaf Pendant Necklace in 18 Karat Gold. The stunning three dimensional insect sits on a leaf form pendant. The fully modeled scarab beetle is wonderful. The 18 Karat yellow gold is vibrant. The leaf is beautifully designed. The Victorians were fascinated with nature and particularly insects, and their insect creations are incredible feats of jewelry making. This whimsical bug dances delightfully around the neck and creates a conversation piece to be passed on for generations. And insect inspired jewels are all the rage today. These antique insect gems are among the most highly desired and collected today.
