About the Item
This is a stunning Rose Cut Diamond, Pearl, Platinum and Enamel pendant necklace in the form of a flower basket.
The jewel is a museum quality antique Edwardian - Victorian necklace with delicate romantic grace and beauty. The flower basket is platinum. The pendant is set with 10 rose cut diamonds in the leaves, flower centers and basket. The flower petals are of natural pearls. The basket is set in a circle of white enamel over 14 Karat yellow gold. The chain is platinum. The necklace dates to 1890 - 1910.
The Edwardians were the master of using platinum to create exquisite delicate designs that were not possible to execute prior to the use of platinum. This is a spectacular example. The necklace comes from a prominent Dutch estate.
The pendant is 20mm in diameter not including the bales. With the bales it is 26mm (1 inch) long.
It is platinum, and the enamel covered circle is 14-16 Karat yellow gold.
The chain is platinum and is 15 inches long.
