About

C.1840. A gorgeous early Victorian sapphire and diamond pendant. The openwork mount old mine-cut diamonds are set with a central circular cut sapphire weighting approximately 2.25cts within a diamond border, with further single cushion-shaped sapphires at the four points. The pendant is backed in silver, which is typical for the era. The sapphires have a deep rich blue hue, and feature the gold clawed collet setting. The diamonds are overall bright and consistent. The sapphires and diamonds create a beautiful contrast together. This piece comes in a fitted case by Widdowson & Veale of the Strand, London. (Click 'Continue Reading' to see the measurement)
