About the Item

Edwardian enameled flower convertible brooch. An extremely beautiful piece, created in America during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1900-1910. This outstanding convertible pendant-brooch has been carefully crafted in the shape of a Sunflower in solid yellow gold of 14 karats and embellished with applications of hot enamel, with gradations of greens and yellows colors. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details, Pansies flowers symbolize a hope that love should not be forgotten. Suited at the reverse with a horizontal hinged pin bar and a hook to wear as a brooch and a rounded hook to be wear in a chain as a pendant. Diamond: Mounted in a six-prongs setting, with 1 old European rose cut diamond of 0.20 carats, white colorless F/G color, SI clarity. Pearl: The nine rays are mounted, with 36 halve round white pearl of 1 mm. Weight: 6.4 Grams (4.10 Dwt). Measurements: 25 mm by 30 mm by 6 mm (0.98 x 1.18 x 0.24 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the gold assay mark, "14KT". Note: The Edwardian Jewelry Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the rings were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer.
