This is a beautiful Edwardian - Art Deco Pendant Necklace with Old Mine and Rose Cut Diamonds with gorgeous Pearls all set in Platinum with a Platinum link chain. The wonderful knife edge pendant has stunning classic design with clean lines and superb style. The pendant features two pearls at the top and bottom of the pendant. The linking knife edge bar is set with an Old Mine Cut Diamond in the center and Rose Cut Diamonds at the bottom. The borders of the platinum setting have beaded milgrain borders. The Diamonds and Pearls are set in Platinum atop 14 Karat Gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant is articulated with both pearl sections articulated. The gorgeous silvery white pearls are 4mm and 7mm in diameter. These may be natural pearls. The Diamonds are all set "a jour", open backed, to give them the ultimate fire and sparkle as the light passes through them.
The open work with the Old Mine Diamonds and the beaded milgrain borders in platinum characterize the Edwardian jewels and give them the radiant sparkle that we all just love. The Edwardian triumvirate of Diamonds, Platinum and Pearls is exquisitely rendered in the jewel. The chain is a beautiful Platinum link chain. The necklace dates to Circa 1880 - 1920.
The jewels are set in Platinum atop 14 Karat gold.
The necklace is 12.5 inches (32 cm) long and can be extended if desired.
The pendant is 1 3/4 inches (43mm) long. It is 3/8 inch (10mm) wide.
