About the Item
This is a fabulous large dramatic pendant or brooch of Poppy Flowers in black lacquer set with Diamonds in 14 Karat White Gold by Helen Blythe-Hart. The poppies are a spectacular piece of original jewelry art sculpture by famed artist Helen Blythe-Hart. The poppy flowers are inspired by pop art's legendary Donald Sultan's poppies. The pendant or brooch is a wonderful large size, 3 1/8 inches tall. The poppies are black lacquer atop Sterling Silver. The centers of the flowers are set with 11 sparkling white diamonds in 14 Karat White Gold. The vivid black and dramatic large size of the poppies, with the brilliant sparkling white diamond and gold centers, create a dream piece of Modern Art Jewelry. The Poppies hark back to the free spirit of the 1960s and evoke incredible joy and exuberance. The flower can be worn as a pendant necklace or brooch as it has both a pendant loop and a brooch clip. The pendant/brooch is 3 1/8 x 2 3/4 inches.
The clasp is hallmarked with Helen Blythe-Hart's maker's mark, 925 and 14K.

My love of Jewelry was ignited by the multitude of ethnic adornments surrounding me as a child. Impossibly huge, intricately detailed, or brightly colored jewels jingling around my neck made me feel distinctly regal- my first inkling that jewelry has the power to transform- elevate. I decided then to pursue metalsmithing as a passion. Brilliant gemstones further seduced me into the life-long study of Gemology initially through the Gemological Institute of America. My creativity is fueled by the love of growing tropical slipper orchids and gardening on my rural 10 acre estate.
