Regency Multigem Swivel Seal
About the Item
A Regency multigem swivel seal, the circular wheel seal set to either side with a circle of cabochon-cut turquoise, the centre lined with cushion-cut ruby, foiled beryl, garnet, amethyst and topaz, all millegrain rubover-set to an ornate pierced yellow gold mount, with gold filigree swivel handle, circa 1820, measuring approximately 3.3 x 1.9cm, gross weight 11.2 grams.
This antique swivel seal in in fine condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold.
This intricate and detailed Georgian fob pendant comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This fabulous piece features a gold wheel set with an array of seals. Each seal features a different brightly coloured gemstone. The exterior of the wheel is ornate and decorated with cabochon-cut turquoise. A unique and characterful piece that would look splendid on a heavy gold chain.
