Tourmaline Crystal Pendant Midcentury
About the Item
This circa 1960s silver choker pendant necklace features a natural, raw raspberry tourmaline crystal set into a custom-fabricated silver mounting. The silver-enclosed tourmaline pendant measures 22.63mm x 8.48mm not including the double loops at either end that serve as the bail. These measure approximately 7.10mm each. I cannot tell if the chain is original to the necklace but it was how I originally found it and it is included, however you can with some fiddling remove it and use the chain of your choice.
The bright silver has a lovely patina and the tourmaline crystal is gorgeous and gemmy; in the sunlight, it just splashes light across your top. It's a clear crystal, fascinating to study and just really eye-catching. Perfectly suitable for anyone of any sex.
I believe it dates to the 1970s.
