About the Macaron collection:
Macaron combines the brilliant colours of vitrous enamel with the sweeping lightness of the guilloché work, which continues into the wavy frame of the piece. The radiance of colour and guilloché is so effective that there is simply no need for further accents in the surface.
Macarons are colourful light delicacies that melt in your mouth. Originally from the Orient, the airy pastry provided good moods at the French royal court for many centuries and after the revolution developed into a refined sweet for connoisseurs of all classes.
About vitreuos enamel:
The inimitably luminous colours are literally created "in the fire": layer by layer, enamel is carefully fired in at 800 degrees Celsius. During guilloching, the finest wave patterns are engraved into the gold, creating a unique depth effect. Vitreous means made of glass: the ancient technique is almost forgotten today and Victor Mayer is perhaps the last manufactory to master it at the highest level.
About guilloché:
Guilloché refers to a class of enamel with abstract geometric patterns cut into the surface of precious metals and showing clearly through the overlying glaze. The manner in which the design is engraved into the metal increases the luminous quality and play of colors in the translucent glaze when the object is rotated to catch the light.
