About vitreuos enamel:
The inimitably luminous colours are literally created "in the fire": layer by layer, enamel is carefully fired in at 800 degrees Celsius. During guilloching, the finest wave patterns are engraved into the gold, creating a unique depth effect. Vitreous means made of glass: the ancient technique is almost forgotten today and Victor Mayer is perhaps the last manufactory to master it at the highest level.
About aquamarine:
Aquamarine is a pale-blue to light-green variety of beryl. The color of aquamarine can be changed by heat. It is a common gemstone. However, there is a rarer deep blue variant called maxixe, but its color can fade due to sunlight.
Aquamarine has historically been used a symbol for youth and happiness due to its color, which has also, along with its name, made Western culture connect it with the ocean.
