Antique 14K Yellow Gold Seed Pearl Tassel Pendant
About the Item
This is an antique 19th century gold ornate pendant and brooch created with seed pearls and lovely tassels. The design of this piece is magnificent, set with a double C-shape, leaf motifs and beading made of 14 karat yellow gold and rose gold. The pendant is created with four seed pearls and a glass stone in the center. The sides of the pendant are adorned with ten lustrous seed pearls, while the top has a curled frame wirework with a centered pearl. Below the top thirteen tassels swing freely and gold engravings are set on the half moon shaped golden plate above the tassels. Two golden spheres hang from a chain that swing back and forth.
The Victorians adored using jewelry as symbolic sentiments and as a sign of purity. Pearls reached the height of popularity in the Victorian Era. Pearls add femininity, refinement, and sophistication to the jewelry. This style was adopted by many other countries.
