Vintage Austrian 18 Karat Yellow Gold Cross “Chapiteau”
About the Item
This gorgeous cross is manufactured in Austria and it's entirely made of 18kt yellow gold. This pendant has a special decoration, cross inside a cross. On the front part we can see a cross carved into the relief. On the edges this cross is decorated with capitals reminiscent of the columns of Roman temples. This type of design it's called "Chapiteau". On the main part of the pendant, the tecnique used it's called “brush finish”. A brush finish is a matte finish on metal created by scratching the surface with a wire brush, creating softened reflections.
The cross is in very good used condition, with normal signs of wear commensurate with the age of the jewel.
