Wendy Brandes 18K Two-Tone Gold Pendant Necklace With Blackened Silver Accents

About the Item

Inspired by Marie Antoinette's daughter, Marie-Thérèse, this chunky 18K oval pendant represents both pain and strength — Marie-Thérèse was imprisoned and mistreated during the French Revolution. She was only 11 when the Bastille was stormed on July 14, 1789. After she was freed at the age of 17, she proved to be mentally tough and politically adept. Nearly 20 years later, when Napoleon tried to take France after fleeing exile on Elba, she was so fearless in standing her own ground that the general called her "the only man in [her] family." The blackened sterling silver bars do not obscure the view of the royal fleur-de-lis symbol, which is atop an engraved brick wall. More details below: 18K yellow gold in satin and high-polish finishes. 18K rose gold fleur-de-lis. Blackened sterling silver.
