An exceptional, fine and impressive antique French 18k yellow gold ornament of a double bass; part of our ornamental silverware collection.
This exceptional antique cast French 18k yellow gold ornament has been realistically modelled in the form of a double bass*.
This antique double bass ornament has been embellished with details reproducing the fine definition of the instrument's principal anatomy: a concave c-bout accented with violin corners, an f-hole to either side of the bridged strings, the iconic tapering upper bout and a head incorporating machine heads and nuts, terminating with a scroll.
The hallmarks struck to the neck of this antique gold double bass model includes:
Silver quality/purity mark: eagle head (18k, 18 carat)
Maker's mark: untraced

The French eagles head and maker's mark struck to the reverse surface of the neck are deeply struck, they are clear in keeping with age and location.
