Studio Greytak 'Druzy Keychain on Apophyllite' with Tourmaline & Topaz

About the Item

DRUZY KEYCHAIN ON APOPHYLLITE In Studio Greytak’s Druzy Keychain on Apophyllite, tiny crystals reflect light on a world of infinite possibilities and inspire fresh ideas. Druzy quartz is a vision stone. In this piece two energizing blue gemstones round out its power. A beautiful round-cut tourmaline encourages the open mind needed to accept new ideas while a spectacular rectangular blue topaz brings all the power of imagination and the ability to think in new ways. The apophyllite base serves to magnify the druzy above. It filters out unproductive noise and allows calm focus on the most promising concepts. When water collects and then evaporates on quartz, it forms miniscule crystals, called druzy or druse, that sparkle in the light. Known as the “Gemstone of Heaven,” druzy quartz opens blocked-up power and helps find one’s vision. It endorses strength, promotes clarity, and reinforces the spirit. Ancient Egyptians believed that tourmaline broke through a rainbow as it emerged from the earth, splitting into gems of all shades. This vivid family of minerals is exceptionally resistant to weathering, a characteristic that translates into metaphysical resilience. Healers classify all colors of tourmaline as receptive stones, meaning they promote self-reflection, and blue tourmaline in particular promotes deep meditation. Topaz is one of the most ancient healing stones. It has long been valued for its ability to attract wealth and improve sight. In shades of blue, topaz stimulates and recharges the mind, fostering deep levels of concentration that have been known to inspire writers and other artists. Apophyllite is a lesser known material with significant healing properties. It is said that nothing relieves stress as quickly or as gently as this watery mineral. Structurally, apophyllite has a unique three-dimensional ring structure with open cavities and interconnected channels that allow the mineral to physically capture and exchange ions. Metaphysically, this same ability translates to increasing inner vision, connection with other dimensions, and the kind of continual motion that makes short work of big goals. For those frustrated by fleeting inspiration, this piece pairs deep insight with a consistent ability to follow through on creation. MATERIALS Druzy Quartz Apophyllite Tourmaline Topaz

  • Freres Rochat Gold Bird Box
    Located in New York, NY
Freres Rochat Gold Bird Box This stunning gold box was created by Frères Rochat circa 1820. At first glance, it may seem like a well-crafted, beautifully designed snuff box with a pearl floral motif on top. However, it holds a hidden surprise - a technical marvel of a singing, rotating bird! The button on the rim opens up the lid to reveal the intricately crafted bird that sings and rotates. It's a wonder how the complex mechanical mechanisms fit into such a small space. This antique box is truly extraordinary and a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the Rochat brothers. About Freres Rochat: Frères Rochat is a Swiss company that was founded in the early 19th century by Antoine and Samuel Rochat, two brothers who came from a long line of skilled watchmakers. The company quickly gained a reputation for producing some of the finest mechanical timepieces and automata of the time, including singing bird boxes, which they became particularly renowned for. The Rochat brothers' innovative designs and engineering prowess made them highly sought after by wealthy collectors and royalty alike. They were commissioned to create bespoke pieces for many high-profile clients, including Napoleon Bonaparte and the Russian Tsar, Alexander I. In the mid-19th century, Frères Rochat was taken over by another watchmaking family, the Favres, who continued to produce exquisite automata and timepieces in the same tradition. The company continued to flourish, with many of their creations being displayed in museums around the world. Today, Frères Rochat is still regarded as one of the foremost names in luxury watchmaking and mechanical automata. Their antique singing bird boxes are highly prized by collectors and connoisseurs, and the company continues to produce exceptional timepieces and other mechanical creations to this day.
