Antique 18th or 19th Century Austrian Silver Mounted Rock Crystal Salt Cellar

About the Item

A fine antique Austrian salt cellar or miniature tazza. Comprising 3 carved and polished rock crystal sections. Mounted with ornate silver mounts - the top section having 2 dragon handles. Simply an amazing antique rock crystal objet d'art! Provenance: From the estate of Catherine Spencer Eddy Beveridge (1881-1970), who was a Socialite and Philanthropist, wife of Senator Beveridge of Indiana, and niece of Marshall Filed and by descent in her family. Date: Late 18th or Early 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. The top section sits slightly askew. There are natural occurring splits and fissures in the rock crystal sections. There are some spots of persistent tarnish to the silver, some light bends and indentations, with some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Marked to the foot with illegible Austrian silver hallmarks. Measurements: Height: ca. 102 mm Length: ca. 125 mm Width: ca. 66 mm Items purchased from this dealer must delight you.
