Certified Nephrite White Jade Mythical Creature, Heatian River Pebble Material
About the Item
For your consideration is a certified natural nephrite jade. This jade carving is of a Chinese mythical beast or creature of very high quality. Traditionally Chinese mythical creatures are regarded as auspicious creatures that possessed mystical powers capable of drawing wealth from all directions. The famous Hetian nephrite jade carving is close to being pure white. It is semi polished to a matte finish. The carving is exceptional. It has superb "hand feel". The piece is singed, however, we do not know the master carver. The lines are sharp and the proportions eye pleasing. On one side near the back area, the master jade carver left a patch of "jade skin" visible. This is to show undoubtably that the material is river jade. Superb Hetian river material with the jade skin is of high high demand. The jade skin is the tell tell sign that it is river material. Jade material from the river is much more sought after than mountain material because over thousands of years being in the river, the jade is naturally polished and a jade skin has developed. Like all things natural and un-enhanced, there are inclusions. These inclusions are under the surface. It is a great piece for investors and connoisseurs looking to collect world class Jade. This will be the center piece of any Jade collection. The jade carving weighs about 160 grams. It measures around 9.1x3x3.8cm The photo (#2) with the jade carving in hand best represents the correct color of the jade. Please refer to the many high definition photos for more details.
