Antique Empire Tiara Comb Hair Ornament Head Ornament Silver Guilt Gilt Metal

About the Item

This stunning hair comb was hand crafted in France in 1810 ca. The tiara is made out of fire gilt brass. The top of the comb is made put of polished fire gilt metal. Underneath the plain upper part we see cut out border of finely chiseled carnations and leaves. Below the carnations we see cut out intertwined garlands of roses and rose buds, grapes and vine leaves that have been riveted onto polished convex fire gilt metal. The comb is made out of silver and impressed with french hall marks. The centre of this part is marked by a small raised flower. The lower edge of the ornament, where the comb is fitted, is engraved with a fine zig zag ornament. There are two minute dents to the top of the ornament
