Antique Victorian 15K Yellow Gold Ruby and Pearl 5 Stone Band Ring

About the Item

A Victorian ruby, pearl, and yellow gold ring, comprising three cushion shaped rubies, and two half pearls, in 15 karat yellow gold. My favourite thing about this Victorian 15K Gold Ruby and Pearl Ring, is the soft hue of the rubies. What’s yours? Perhaps the shimmering pearls? Or the chunky yellow gold band? This Victorian ring is set to the centre with a cushion shaped ruby. The ruby is a soft, pinkish-red hue, which is complemented perfectly by soft, lustrous pearls, set to either side. The ring is complete with a further pair of cushion shaped rubies, set to the ends. The rubies are well matched with one another. The stones are held within a lozenge shaped setting, set into the band for a flush-set design. The chunky shoulders of the ring taper to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ring feels lovely on the finger, and is a well-made, quality piece. The ring is in good condition, with some wear to the facets of the rubies. Wear and tear acquiescent with age. The setting of the ring measures 3.5mm long and 14.5mm wide. The ring rises 2mm off the hand, and the band measures 2.7mm wide at the back. Ruby weight, estimated: 0.23ctw Pearl size, each, estimated: 2.5mm Gross weight: 3.3g Ring size: UK – L US – 5 ¾ EU – 51.25 mm Hallmarks: ’15.625’ (15 karat gold), anchor for Birmingham assay, date letter ‘L’ for 1885, bearing makers mark “CG” (possibly Charles Green & Son) This ring can be resized within reason.
