Geometric squared ring designed by Jean Dinh Van for Cartier. A sophisticate geometric ring created in 1970 in Paris, France by the master jewelry designer Dinh van. This wearable little sculpture was designed exclusively for the house of Cartier in 1970 and was part of a repertoire of geometric jewelry presented by the artist. This ring was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, embellished with carvings of natural rosewood and the surfaces are treated, with brushed finish. The design synthesizes the architectural geometric style that characterizes Dinh Van. The daring piece incorporates the composition of three geometric cushion-squared shaped elements together. Has a total weight of 9.2 grams and fit a finger size up to 4, cannot be enlarged. The top view measures are 10mm by 20mm. Stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "CARTIER DINH VAN 18 KT c.". Jean Dinh Van is a French designer that began is successful career in the 1960 designing for the French jewelry houses of Cartier and Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible.
