14 Karat Gold Wedding Band with Ivy Leaves and Enamel, circa 1870

About the Item

A band ring made in the United States in 14 Kt gold wraps ivy leaves around the finger. Ivy clings and intertwines in endless attachment which makes this a meaningful ring for lovers. The borders are emboldened with black enamel giving definition to the band. This band cannot be sized but will fit a finger size 7 1/2 to 8. Beautiful and clean inside and out. c. 1870

The ring is a standout. This ring is hallmarked for 1822, London with the makers mark JL. It is enamel on gold with a curved square frame and centered by a diamond. The diamond is like a framed portrait that stands out on the black background. It is 05 cts. with a North Star twinkle. In its setting the size can only be estimated.
