Edwardian Ruby and Diamond Ring
About the Item
An Edwardian ruby and diamond ring, the oval faceted ruby weighing 0.94 carats claw-set between old-cut diamond-set scroll designed split-shoulders, the diamonds estimated to weight 0.8 carats in total, all set in platinum and yellow gold, to gold ridged shank, circa 1905, the head measuring 1.6x1.8cm, finger size M 1/2, gross weight 4.5 grams.
This ring is in very good condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold and platinum.
This distinctive and charming Edwardian ring comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Featuring a stunning central “pigeon’s blood” ruby surrounded by four lively diamonds, this unique ring was made in around 1905 and is a wonderful and eye-catching piece.
