Edwardian 1.20 Carat Natural Untreated Burma Ruby Diamond Ring

About the Item

A truly spectacular ruby and diamond cluster ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This outstanding ring is crafted in vibrant 18kt gold with a platinum top. Prong set at the center is a gorgeous Burma ruby, which is a Cushion Mixed Cut weighing approximately 1.20ct. The luscious Burma ruby is untreated, displaying vivid natural color that is simply breathtaking in person! A border of old Mine cut diamonds surrounds the center ruby, forming a sparkling halo. Two additional diamonds rest at either side of center, decorating the shoulders. The diamonds weigh approximately 2.00ctw combined, with I-K range color and VS-SI1 range clarity. The ring was issued an appraisal by an independent and accredited GIA certified Graduate Gemologist in May 2017, and has a stated retail replacement value of $25,000.00. Also accompanying the ring is a Prestige Gemstone Report issued by AGL (American Gemological Laboratories) in October 2016, which confirms the ruby to be natural, unheated stone of Burma origin. An engraved inscription can be found within the inside of the shank, now partially faded due to age. A magnificent antique gemstone ring, it would make an exquisite ruby engagement ring, and would look incredible worn on special occasions! The ring has a finger size 6.75, but could be resized up or down. The ruby and diamond centerpiece measures approximately 1/2" wide and tall, and rests 1/4" above the finger when worn. The dimensions of the Burma ruby are 8.25 x 6.5 x 2.18mm. The gold band measures approximately 2.5mm wide at the back. The total weight of the piece is 5.5 grams.

Condition:
The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum-topped setting. The natural ruby and diamonds are all intact, securely set, and free of chips or surface scratches.
