Museum Quality Regency Pearl Emerald Gold Cluster Ring

About the Item

A Regency pearl and emerald cluster ring, the square step-cut emerald measuring approximately 4 x 4mm, set to the centre of a cluster surround of eight natural pearls measuring approximately 3.4mm in diameter, three pearls set to each shoulder, all cutdown collet-set in yellow gold with a closed back to the settings, to a tapered fluted yellow gold shank with ornately-carved pierced shoulders, circa 1810, the head measuring 1.3x2cm, gross weight 5.5 grams. Finger size I This Regency ring is in very good condition, with slight abrasion on the emerald consistent with the age. Unmarked, tested as 14ct gold. This lovely ring exemplifies the elegant simplicity of the Regency era. It was made in around 1810 and comes from the antique ring collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This piece features a beautiful bright green emerald surrounded by a cluster of nacreous pearls set in a carved yellow gold band. This ring captures the romance of the period in which it was made and would look perfect worn with a delicate summer dress.
