1.28 Carat Pear Shaped Diamond Gold Double Heart Ring
About the Item
A diamond and ruby ring, the ring in the form of a double heart, set with a pear-shaped diamond and a faceted ruby of similar shape, estimated to weigh 0.84 carats and 1.28 carats, to the centre of a diamond cluster surround and ribbon bow surmount, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 0.80 carats, all set in platinum to an 18ct yellow gold mount, with fleur-de-lis shoulders and D-section shank, London 2011, by Bentley and Skinner, head measuring 1.8x1.7cm, gross weight 6.7 grams. This ring is in excellent condition.
This romantic ring was made by Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It is inspired by Victorian double heart rings, which were a popular style for engagement ring or gift between sweethearts in the nineteenth century. This piece features two hearts, one set to the centre with a dazzling pear-cut diamond and the other with a crimson pear-cut ruby. Each central stone is surrounded by a frame of further diamonds and the two hearts are connected at the top by a diamond-studded ribbon. Evocative of the Victorian era but absolutely wearable today, this wonderful ring would make the idea non-traditional engagement ring.
