21st Century 9 Karat Rose Gold and Diamond Oval Cesellato Cocktail Ring
About the Item
Understated and elegant, and yet 600-odd years in the making, this oval rose gold and blackened silver cocktail ring is produced using an ancient Albanian technique that was brought to Palermo in the fifteenth century.
This ring contains 2.65 carats of pavé-set, rose-cut white diamonds placed into a blackened disk of .925 silver measuring 27.26 mm x 19.46 mm. The band and base of the ring are 9-karat rose gold.

An elegant statement piece, the detailed rose gold band and ring base, as well as the silver setting, make it as intriguing off the hand as it is on. This collection is more than a style of jewellery, it is an art form which captures the history of Sicily's capital city through their warm tones of rose gold, the intensity of the dark diamond sparkles from the beautifully simple silver dome, and the blending of ancient techniques used to create them.
Though craftspeople preserved the original technique in their new Sicilian home, each invasion of the southern Italian island brought a greater diversity of jewels and jewellery making, and techniques began to fuse and merge. What has resulted is a jewellery technique unique almost specifically to Palermo, which relies on knowledge and handcrafting methods that have stood the test of time.

The FANCS V workshop is situated in the heart of Sicily's capital city, Palermo. The jeweller is a three-generation Sicilian family business owned and run by Simona Elia and her husband Natale Vitale. Created by Natale's grandfather, FANCS V has grown from a goldsmith shop into a design studio where Simona, who trained in Milan, contributes signature collections to complement the custom pieces Natale produces for a dedicated client base. For FANCS V, happiness is defined by the moment you receive your jewel and fall in love with it. Look for the company code PA266 stamped into all gold pieces, which indicate their authenticity.
