Handcrafted in France in our High Jewelry Paris workshop. Designed by Édéenne, artist and founder of Maison Édéenne, this one-of-a-kind 18K yellow gold ring is made of an imposing citrine of 43 carats set “upside down”, a 1.03 carat cognac diamond below the citrine that can move as it is freely set in a cup. With this special setting, an astonishing effect can be seen from above the ring: the diamond gives the illusion of becoming four diamonds through the citrine’s facets, and when the hand moves, the diamond moves and gives the impression of a sparkling fluid below the citrine. Each piece by Édéenne tells stories with deep meanings. This ring is a tribute to Love and its power. The jewel’s very specific way it is constructed as an homage to the movie “The Fifth Element” (by Luc Besson). The citrine symbolizes Milla Jovovitch, the young humanoid woman named Leeloo, while the diamond represents Bruce Willis, Korben. Survival of Planet Earth is a stake and we discover that the needed Fifth Element is Love. It can be released only if Korben declares himself to Leeloo. Édéenne believes that “to sincerely say “I love you”, you need to be free. This is why the diamond is not set”. When two people as different as Leeloo and Korben merge through love, extraordinary things happen: saving Planet Earth, giving the magic effect of the “Fusion” ring. With true love, one diamond can be transformed into four. True Work of Art, this ring, titled "Fusion" has been exhibited in Museums worldwide, notably during the exhibition “Maison Édéenne, where Jewelry meets Art” at Museum of Legion of Honor, Paris (2019) and for a solo show at Sotheby’s London (2018) titled “Maison Édéenne, Jewellery Beyond Bespoke”. At this occasion, Sotheby’s wrote “Édéenne sculpts jewels like portraits... [they] will fascinate jewelry and art lovers alike”. Financial Times declared Édéenne "New Gem Star". Her one of a kind sculptural jewels have caught the eyes of Vogue, New York Times, among many others. Art of gifting: the Jewel is presented with Maison Édéenne’s signature Jewelry Box, hand wrapped in purple silk paper.
