About the Item

One of a kind green Plique-à-jour ring in 18 K yellow gold set with a yellow topaz as center stone. Handmade in Europe at the designer’s workshop. Inspired by the importance and richness of the Olive-tree in Mediterranean culture this ring depicts the whole story of a tree. The olive tree is represented by its branches in the form of the ring, its fruit, the olive by the green Plique-à-jour and the produce of olives, the olive oil, commonly known as liquid gold, by the yellow topaz on top. This ring can't be sizable. I's a one of a kind size US Nº 6 3/4. TORRUBIA & TORRUBIA, designs sustainable fine jewelry. Sisters Amaia and Yolanda Torrubia, very sensitive about global environmental and social issues contribute to philanthropic organizations with a percentage from proceed sales. In 2014 received “El Dedal de Oro” Award. The most prestigious fashion magazines and celebrities quickly recognized their special creations. Fashion designers requested their collaboration for NYFW. In 2011, Nicola Formichetti showcased TORRUBIA & TORRUBIA among everything he loved within his NY store. Based in San Sebastian and New York the sisters combine their idiosyncrasies, passion for the arts, design, sustainability, conscious consumption and nature. Their modern and sophisticated designs for men and women are the synthesis of their personalities. Amaia, graduated in Mechanical Engineering but her true vocation was the family tradition. During college, she began her formal jewelry training at the family workshop. Due to her immediate success, she launched “Amaia Torrrubia”. In 2009, Yolanda proposed to join forces and launch a Sustainable Designer Fine Jewelry line, TORRUBIA & TORRUBIA. Amaia is currently the Director of the San Sebastián Flagship/Workshop and serves as Designer/Jeweler of the brand. Yolanda received a J.D and Masters of Arts Administration degree in Spain. Her PhD dissertation in arts and law, led her to New York where she graduated from Columbia University Law School with honors as a Burton Fellow Scholar. Upon graduating, Yolanda worked with prominent fashion lawyers and designers. Currently, Yolanda lives in New York serving as the Creative Director of TORRUBIA & TORRUBIA.
