Geometric ring designed by Jean Dinh Van. A sophisticate sculptural ring created in 1970 in Paris, France by the master jewelry designer Dinh Van. This rare geometric cushion shaped ring was part of a repertoire of geometric pieces of jewelry presented by the artist between the 1966 and 1972. It was made up with two elements crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The design of this piece, synthesizes the architectural geometric style that characterizes Dinh Van. The daring piece incorporates the composition of three geometric figurative elements such; the sphere, the circle and the square. Gemstone: Mount on top with a sphere of 10 mm carved from natural hematite. Weight: 6.8 grams, (4.36 Dwt). Size: 5 to 5.5 and can be enlarged or downsized two numbers. Measurements: From the top view 18mm by 13mm (0.70 x 0.51 Inches) and raise 11 mm over the finger. Hallmarks: Stamped, with French hallmarks, the eagle's head for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold, the date of production and signed in full, "DINH VAN 18KT ©1970". Jean Dinh Van, is a French designer that began is successful career in the 1960 designing for the French jewelry houses of Cartier and Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible.
