About the Item
Unique pear shaped blue green Tourmaline ring. This gorgeous ring features a blue green pear shaped Brazilian Tourmaline bezel set in 18K yellow gold. That is surrounded with a band of 18K white gold pave set with diamonds. It is encircled with another line of yellow 18K gold. This ring is truly one of a kind. It was handmade for us in Rio de Janeiro. Its name comes from toramalli, which is the Sinhalese word for “stone with multiple colors.” Before scientists recognized it as a distinct stone in the 1800s, tourmaline had always been confused with rubies and emeralds because of its varying colors. There are very few other gems that can match up to the extraordinary colors of the tourmaline. The different colors of the stone have a different meaning. Black tourmaline is associated with self-confidence, pink with love and compassion, green with strength and courage and so on.
While tourmaline is not easily damaged by cleaning agents, it is best to clean it with a soft brush and a water and soap solution. Keep it away from heat.
The pear shaped Tourmaline is 11 X 9 MM, est 5ctw. The 16 diamonds est 0.32 ctw, I/J color, SI 1-2 clarity. Sizable 5.75. No changes by seller.

Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
