About the Item
Striking dinner ring of large 3.11 carat oval Emerald accented with sparkling round golden Citrines, 1.3 carats total weigh. This setting is gold rhodium over Sterling Silver and a nice weight and width to balance the size of the gemstones. (Approximately 2.5 MM). The Citrines sit just below the table of the Emerald, so it is most prominent, but well accented by the Citrines. The gemstones are approximately 3/4 inch from side to side. The ancient Egyptians mined Emeralds nearly 4,000 years ago, and Cleopatra was an enthusiastic collector. It was thought that Emeralds empowered the owner with a view into the future and was a token of good fortune and the abundance of the life force. Emerald in a part of the Beryl family. Also, in the Beryl family you will find in addition to emerald, aquamarine, golden beryl or heliodor, morganite, goshenite, and red beryl. Emerald is the traditional May birthstone.
