Emerald and diamond cocktail ring by J. E. Caldwell, American, circa 1940. A platinum ring diagonally set with one central marquise shaped old cut untreated Muzo emerald in a claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.90 carats, and one central marquise shaped old cut diamond in a claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, surrounded by an asymmetrical bezel with integrated split shoulders set with ten square step cut diamonds in channel settings with an approximate total weight of 0.30 carats, twelve rectangular baguette cut diamonds in claw settings with an approximate total weight of 0.84 carats, and fourteen round old cut diamonds in bead settings with an approximate total weight of 0.50 carats, on a tapered ridged square shank, marked ‘JEC & Co’, and with an approximate combined diamond weight of 2.64 carats, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78155-36. UK finger size K 1/2.
