Rose Cut Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 17th Century

About

Rose cut diamond cluster ring. Set with fourteen cushion shape rose cut diamonds in closed back cutdown settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.00 carats, to an impressive quatrefoil design with one diamond set to the underside of the bezel, the broad smoothly conforming shoulders tapering through to a solid D-shape shank with engraved detailing and lug to reverse. Tested yellow gold, approximately 10g in weight, circa 17th century, accompanied by an Oxford Labs X-ray fluorescence report stating the composition of the metal. UK finger size P. During the 16-17th centuries, rings were not only worn on the finger, but also worn sewn onto clothing or attached from the neck or wrist with a bow. The lug at the reverse of this ring would have enabled this. Please note shipping to the United States of America requires the purchaser to fill out a CBP 5106 customs form before the item is shipped. This form is a legal requirement for any item over $2,000 which is being imported into the United States. One of the details the form requests is the purchaser’s social security number or importer’s number.
