Victorian Egyptian Revival Diamond Enamel Nephrite 14 Karat Gold Scarab Ring
About the Item
Centering a nephrite cabochon carved to depict a scarab beetle - measuring 9.0 x 12.0 mm. Opaque dark bluish green in color - accented by bands of rose cut diamonds across beetle. Bead set and weighing approximately 0.14 carat total - eye clean and bright. Scarab is bezel set and flanked by lotus flower motif shoulders. Pierced and tri-split with champleve enamel throughout. Opaque white, blue, green, and maroon - minimal loss. Tested with Austria-Hungarian assay marks for 18 karat gold. With maker's mark. Circa: 1880's. Ring size: 6 1/4 and sizable. Measures North to South 12.5 mm and sits 7.0 mm high. Total weight: 3.9 grams.
