About

Standing, looking to his left and holding a spear and a shield. The reverse of the stone is engraved with later Arabic script which does not show in the photograph. It can be assumed that this cameo was probably war booty from the Athenian Persian wars of 480 BC and thereafter. The Cameo is set in a simple English Georgian revolving ring mount, circa 1760 and tests for 18k Gold.
