Jade Ring with Diamonds circa 1965 GIA Certified Untreated

About

Well, here it is: the natural and untreated jadeite jade ring you want but never find. I know that feeling. I lived with it for years, until I found this vintage ring. This substantial 18k yellow gold men's ring features a large (19.1 mm X 13.8 mm X 3.90 mm) vivid green Burmese jadeite jade cabochon of even color and high translucency—a superb, old-mine stone. This ring was GIA certified untreated without dyes or polymer impregnation (GIA #10945463 January 10, 2000). Flanking this mesmerizing jadeite cabochon on each shoulder is a pair of white and nearly flawless (F, VS) brilliant-cut pear-shaped diamonds weighing a combined total of *at least* 1 carat. I measured them in the setting and was extremely conservative in my calculations. Jadeite of this color, translucency and grain is highly uncommon today and almost never encountered except on auction house catalog covers. This ring was created circa 1965 by a Los Angeles jeweler named George Barmache. There's very little information available about him but locals remember him fondly. I don't know how or why, but somehow Mr. Barmache had access to some of the finest jadeite stones in the world back during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration. I've owned several of his pieces and they are of superb quality both in terms of his stone quality and craftsmanship. He worked with only the finest natural and untreated jadeite. The ring was originally created for a man but of course, it's for anyone who wants an important jade ring that is immeasurably finer than 99% of the jade rings on the market. This is an excellent investment piece, as fine-grained, old-mine jadeite jade will only continue to increase in value. The ring is currently a size 8.5 and I detect no evidence of a prior resizing, but it could be done by an expert jeweler with a laser welder. The ring sits approximately 8 mm high on the finger. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to possess a natural and untreated Burmese jadeite jade ring of unrivaled quality. Please note: I no longer possess the original GIA report, only the report number which is above and from which you could obtain a replacement report if so desired. You can see a screenshot below of the results indicating the stone is natural and untreated. Photographed entirely in natural light.
