Antique 18k gold mourning ring, Black enamel, Agate, Victorian

Such a wonderfully beautiful and unique antique mourning ring. Being a lover of mourning jewels this ring does not disappoint, everything about it is a work of art. It features a rich and chunky 18ct yellow gold band, fully hallmarked and decorated with black enamel depicting the words In Memory Of around the band. The face is not just beautifully designed it has a locket reverse currently containing a lock of hair, the front is bordered by an 18ct gold frame decorated with a Greek key design in black enamel, in the middle there is a carved agate with the initials CM. This is a genuine antique gem of a ring, filled with sentiment and beauty, incredibly well made and well kept. Marks and era: Fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham Assay office, 1862, Mid Victorian era. Condition: Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, minor nicks to the enamel in areas, Agate is mounted with initials a different way to the band writing.
