Christofle-Debain Gorgeous French Silver Asparagus/Sandwich Grip Rococo Pattern The grip has a two-part hinged grip form, with foliate decoration. This grip can be used for pastry or even sandwiches. No monogrammed. Two pieces avalaible. Registered on the 16th of may 1884, Alphonse Debain won Gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris with this ingenious asparagus grip. This innovative system was picked up by other silversmiths as the prestigious Maison Christofle and Puiforcat. Silversmiths mark : The letters, "A D" for Alphonse Debain mark, " C C" for Charles Christofle mark and "Bte SGDG" (Patented) Prestigious silversmiths : Maison Christofle The workshops continue to manufacture entirely made by hand according to ancient techniques (shooting-spinning, planing, chiseling, engraving, ...). Like haute couture, Christofle continues the tradition of "High Silver". The Maison Christofle's influence on French silver-making in the XIXth century is inestimable, an exhibitor and jury member for most of the universal exhibitions, they made and wrote history at the same time.
