PUIFORCAT French Sterling Silver & Raynaud Limoges Porcelain Plates 12 pc Chen-Yang model. Chen Yang is the name for this exquisite model. Twelve salad/luncheon/dessert/cheese plates handcrafted by the world-famous porcelain manufacturer Raynaud & Cie & by the prestigious silversmith Puiforcat. The fantastic design based of Chinese porcelain of 18th is surrounded by a ring of solid 950/1000 sterling silver. The idea for this service dates back to the time when royal families and other nobles used a ring to protect their plates when they were travelling. It's already very rare to find a full service 12 plates of this model, but I have never seen such a service with a ring of sterling silver. The silversmith Puiforcat still made today, a model of plates with solid silver ring but is only 930/1000 sterling silver. One plate alone (with a diameter of 27.5 cm) needs 90 grams of sterling silver, we can deduce that these plates contain more than 750 grams of 950/1000 sterling silver.
