Pair of Antique Reticulated Sterling Silver Bowls with Sevres Porcelain Plaques

About the Item

A fine pair of associated reticulated .935 sterling silver bowls. Each with a round Sevres-type porcelain insert at the base, basketweave design, and intertwined garland and ribbon border. The porcelain plaques or inserts have a lattice pattern of roses and leaves and are marked with a blue Sevres-type factory mark to their bases. The silver bowls are a near pair with the bases each having a slightly different thickness. Simply an impressive pair of bowls! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is some persistent tarnish to both bowls. Both bowls still retain traces of their original gilding. Otherwise, they have some very fine & light surface scratches here and there and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Hallmarked with silver hallmarks to one bowl. The second bowl marked 935 and 84. Both bowls bearing blue Sevres type marks to the bases. Measurements: Diameters: ca. 6 1/2 in.
