About the Item

You can't help but be captivated by this truly spectacular antique Art Nouveau era, 18kt gold, Blue enamel and Rose cut diamond fob watch. A rich 18kt yellow gold case with deep cobalt blue Guilloche enamelling to the verso, encompassing a deeply engraved star motif which is set with seven twinkling old rose cut diamonds, six smaller diamonds surrounding a larger centre diamond. To the front there is a slim rim of the lush blue enamel framing the white enamel dial, the dial has black hands and Arabic numerals with gold detailing intercepting, it has a subsidiary second dial to the bottom. The watch comes with a matching gold and blue enamel Bow brooch so it can be worn pinned to a lapel or garment, such fine detailing and a pretty touch, the watch can be removed from the bow brooch so it really is like two pieces of jewellery you are getting with this pretty piece. It is a top wind, pin set watch. It has a Swiss made movement. A truly stunning piece, could also be worn as a pendant on a nice gold Albert or long chain. This beautifully crafted watch is currently running and is the perfect example of functional works of art in fine jewellery. Marks and era: Early 20th century, Art Nouveau era, London import marks, 18ct gold, 1907, George Dimier. Condition: Good used condition overall, running and ticking, light surface wear commensurate with age and use, bow brooch has some signs of soft solder to the reverse, glazing is a later replacement and is perspex, the watch loop (bow) is 9ct gold.
